Aqualad had for many years had no problems with who he was. Up until the moment he had lost any interest in loving those of the opposite gender, instead, finding himself being drawn to those of the same sex. The hero struggles with his sexuality, refusing to accept himself, and as time goes by, his secret becomes harder to keep. (Aqualad being gay is based on the comic books.)

Superboy had finally felt accepted. Like he belonged. Until one mistake reminded him he was only a project. The hero grows angrier with each passing day, angry at the way he was who he was.

Miss Martian need not worry about her being a White Martian. Everyone still loved her. But, her attempts at trying to be the perfect person and trying to make her younger "brother's" (Beast Boy's), life a lot easier takes a toll on everyone. And she grows to think that maybe, she should go away. White Martians where never wanted.

Kid Flash is as happy, humorous, and laid back as can be. And once he had returned from the dead, everyone was happy. It seemed. But his return from the speed force comes with a price, and he slowly becomes weaker, slower. Its as if he could drop at any minute.

Artemis knew she was never like her sister, or father even. She was a hero, and she always believed that. Until recently, she finds herself drawn towards the life of crime, and wonders if she truly does belong to this heroic group.

Nightwing was always one to never give up. Yet, when the team voted him off as their leader, that was what he did. He gave up on regaining the trust of his team, gave up on being good enough. Over time the hero finds himself becoming more violent, and more abusive, adding pain to the villains he encounters. He loses sight of who he really is, and decides to keep to himself, thinking loneliness is the best option.

Members of the Justice League, who happen to be their mentors, recreate a bond they once had with those they took under their wing.

Inspired by Instagram account: talon.grayson Extract from the book: Inside the cave the scene was still silent. Some lay in sleep within the pool of blood, and not a sleep they would ever awake from. Others sat in silence, utterly defeated from the half day they had spent in that room with Talon and the utter fear he had made them feel when he hunted them all down. A hunter and its prey. They had been put closer together now as well, Talon had deemed that they could talk but they were still separated enough that none was within reaching distance of the other. But they didn't want to talk. Some of them wished it would end already, like M'gann. Some were struggling to keep up their sass, like Artemis. And some were trying to stay in control, not to let their emotions get the better of them because that's the boy they raised doing this god-forsaken things to them. But the control would not last. Everyone knew that at some point the Batman was going to break. And he was going to break the hardest. So they sat there, chained and restrained in their chairs, wearily watching him as silent tears fell to the floor and mixed in with the red of their fallen friends. Jason had been walking for nearly twenty-four hours and his hopes for finding anyone in the cave alive were dwindling with each second. But he had gone and done the noble thing, he had gotten help. Maybe the three of them could stand a chance at beating Talon, maybe they wouldn't. But they had to try, it was the right thing to do. So the trio headed to the cave, not stopping to rest for the night because they could feel the danger in the air, they could tell that this strange boy that had turned up on their doorstep was telling the truth. A truth that could destroy America for good.

Dick Grayson was fed up with Batman, that's true, but he was also tired, tired of always being treated like a kid, tired of keeping secrets, tired of fighting his inappropriate feeling for his best friend, just tired. At sixteen Dick left Batman, and he also left the team, he wanted to be his own hero, work by himself with out living under the shadow of the big bad bat, and he was also running, running from the feelings he wasn't supposed to have. Five years later he gets an offer, the team wants him to join, except they don't know he used to be Robin, and he's not about to tell them.
