Undertaker's Bizarre Doll Project appears to lead into a dead - end. From the case of Johann Agares the shinigami draws the conclusion that hapiness is what defines the quality of the fragmented glimpse at the future - the "episodes". But since that Incident over 50 years ago, sadness has been being the only feeling, he is capable of. As an orphan crosses his way in France, time seems ripe to choose another approach...
This story is set in an AU.
Readers of the Black Butler/ Kuroshitsuji - manga may consider some bits spoilers, if they haven't caught up onto Vol. XII [= 12] and above though.
