The Perks of Being a Musician
Have you ever stuffed up a solo at a concert? Been told you've been playing your instrument wrong despite the fact you've been playing it for eight years? Had a conductor yell in your face because it was meant to be a C SHARP? Talked to your fellow musical geniuses about an instrument you play and then realised they have no idea what a flugelhorn is? I could go on forever. After all, it is a rant book. But that's not the point. Be prepared to laugh the rosin off your bow with some pretty relatable rants about how life as a musician isn't necessarily all smooth gliding. Possibly literally for string players. Especially when doing spicatto. Written by a slightly experienced musician herself, who may or may not know what she's talking about. You'll have to find out for yourself. The Rules.
Life doesn't have a rule book. But it has unsaid rules, some even tips. In no particular order, here are the rules that I feel have deep meanings (sometimes...) behind them. Especially for me. FULL DISCLOSURE: It is now 2021 and I'm 21 years old. I wrote this at 14 with no real perspective on life. Read at your own risk. It's bad.
