"He smiled with his eyes, something I hadn't been able to do since my happiness was stolen. In a way, I was jealous. The way I loved his smile was not romantic. It was the way you love the sun shining on your face or a fire in the winter that takes the cold away from the very tips of your toes. His smile warmed me and was consistent in doing so. For that reason, I loved it."
