~~~ "These parties are always a bore," she told him as they walked, footsteps in sync. "I can tell," he smiled curiously at her. "Why do you come then?" "For the food, and my..." She hesitated. "my mom would be disappointed if I didn't..." She smiled sadly at the ground but perked up. "My father works with models, he manages them, actually, so we were invited," the boy informed. "And you?" "My friend's dad owns the place. He's kinda uptight," she shrugged as they took in the brisk fall air. She was lying but not being compared to her family for once was the most relief she'd ever had. "Your friend or his dad?" He asked, his face flushing with the question. She glanced at him and contemplated the question. "Both," she shrugged. He smiled amusedly. She sighed softly as she took in the air. Her eyes closed as she smiled. "I love fall nights," she grinned toothily. He stared at her, cheeks tinting with the cold he looked away and smiled at the cloud covered sky. "Me too." ~~~ "You know," she spoke to the group distantly. "Under the night sky, even in a city full of people, it's easy to feel the loneliest. With you guys, though, it seems pretty hard!" She grinned shyly. She accepted the shocked stares as she beamed childishly. "Since you never shut up-" she glared at his babbling mouth. He grinned charmingly. "I'm trying to be nice and you talk over me?" I hissed. "What can I say?" He shrugged. She kicked him in the leg. "Why do I even bother?" She glared away irritatedly. The group laughed. She tried not to but she joined them. ~~~All Rights Reserved
