My name is Natalia Francisco. I'm 19 and I've been snowboarding since I was 10, and I've gotten pretty good at it. I was crowned the Junior Champion for 6 years straight, but it all was over when I injured myself in Bleu, New Mexico two years ago.

I'm ready to try again. I'm returning as an Olympic candidate this season, with the support and help from my good friend Nolan Patrick, who I met in Bleu when I had my accident.

I dunno, I guess we're kind of a thing. I definitely really like him, and I think he likes me too, but I don't know. I just know I can't get him out of my mind. Those blue eyes... they've really made an impression on me.

I do not own the rights to the Philadelphia Flyers or Nolan Patrick. I only own Natalia Francisco, the rest of her family, and the Thomas family.

Aiden Bennett was my first crush, my brother's best friend, hockey superstar, and now? He's my fake boyfriend. Running away to Boston was a chance for me to start anew, but as life goes, I find myself back in my hometown for my sister's wedding, where I'm unfortunately dragged back into the judgmental spotlight over my failed engagement. Enter Aiden, who much to my surprise, swoops in like a knight in shining armor to shield me from any more scrutiny. His plan you ask? Pretending to be my boyfriend. Yup, you heard that right. I didn't believe it either myself. Little did we know, a leaked photo from our night of playing pretend would spark a media frenzy, landing right into the hands of Aiden's agent who has a plan of his own. His plan? Use this charade to help polish Aiden's recently damaged image while securing a long term future in the league. Now I'm stuck in a whirlwind of public appearances, unexpected moments, and conflicting emotions. I've spent years keeping the feelings I had for him frozen away, but with every look, with every touch, he's chiseling his way back into my heart. As time goes by, I'm terrified that the lines between real and fake are going to blur, and after everything I've been through, could I be ready to take a chance on love again? Do I play it safe, or risk everything for the one person who has always been there, just out of reach? Aiden Bennett could destroy me, but maybe that's a risk I'm finally willing to take.

"You can't be serious?" I stare at him in disbelief, blinking as I notice there isn't any sign of a lie. "Why would I marry you? I mean I see your benefits, there's nothing in it for me." "I have something you want, you know that. You're just to stubborn to realise it." He shrugs, slouching in his desk chair. "What do you have? A bad reputation?" "Money, you and I both know just how much you need it right now." He says, staring back at me but not in disbelief. He's fully serious about this. ------ Gianna Rose Rowell hasn't had the best start in life, by the looks of it, things aren't changing. She grew up poor, someone close to her is ill. She has student debt bills, rent months overdue and now doctors bills to pile on top of that. Working as an assistant for a hockey player doesn't exactly help that either. Aiden Bennett is privileged, he always has been. Unlike Gianna he has grown up with money. Unfortunately for his parents, he didn't want their lifestyle, which to them didn't matter. He inherited the company and had his side thing. Hockey. Put the pressure gets to him and he turns to other means to distract him. Marriage of convenience trope.
