I'm the new girl, Jessie Kay. I used to live in London with my granddad, but now I'm left with no choice, but to live with uncle, who happens to have a son, in the United States.
Now, I'm no ordinary girl. I like to think of myself as a very independent, strong, and confident reader.
I may seem very innocent, and I may act like it too, but in reality, I've experienced more than anyone should ever experience in two lifetimes. That's right. This girl is not so innocent as you thought.
Growing up with an alcoholic and drug addict mom who ended up killing herself, a dad who was very known in the dark side of the world who got shot and killed in the middle of the night, a brother who was in a gang before he was brutally killed...you would've thought I'd be very different than what I appear to be.
Because what I appear to be, is a shy, quiet, smart, weak, defenseless, scared little girl. But really, I could probably kick your ass in seven seconds.
Well, knowing all of this knowledge on my history, you'd think I'd stay away from the whole danger thing when I move back to the States, right? Hate to break it to you, but I don't. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
However, you'll be glad to hear that I don't drink or do drugs! Cue the applause and cheering! Now, I bow...
So me, Jessie Kay, finds myself in a little situation that involves a good amount of gang activity.
Well, I don't think any amount of gang activity is good, but it's good for you readers who like action, so yeah, you get the point.
Anyway, the son of the uncle I mentioned earlier? Yeah, he's a gang leader, surprise, surprise! Yeah, well, guess what! I fall for the enemy gang leader.
Luca Hanes will be the death of me...
More like near-death of me...
But you get the point...
"What's your problem?" He asks darkly.
"What's your problem?" I spit back.
"Why do you keep following me?" He hisses.
"I don't follow you!" I shout back.
"Then how come where ever I go you end up going or being there?" He questions in a raised voice.
"Its a coincidence." I say back in the same tone. He then moves forward towards me, and I take a step back but my back hits the brick wall. He puts his arms up his palms against the wall caging me in looking into my eyes. I won't look at him though, I look to the ground scared.
"Just leave me alone...stay away." He whispers in my ear before he walks away to his car with his head down.
