When Ana's parents suddenly lose everything, she finds herself realizing that great prizes don't last forever. Moving into a new area all the way in the west end, she has a hard time cooperating and making friends in the atmosphere at school. Beaten down and hurt, she meets Zeke. He befriends and talks to her about the many things that he has done and accomplished. As Ana goes through the long highschool road, Zeke shows her a different world of struggle and pain, a world where you need friends to watch your back when you turn. Bringing her and introducing her to new bad things Ana changes slowly in what Zeke was before. Becoming best friends they experience new things together, and at that point Ana feels that her life is becoming whole again. But when Ana's father gets redirected to a new company back in the city, she feels as if she's a different person from the Ana she used to be. Tragedy hits more than once when Zeke's past catches up to Ana and hurts her more than ever, West Friend tells a story of a bright friend who has dark past, it also tells of what true friends do and what true friends are.
