The Ring of Assassins is a secret group of assassins who made it their life's mission to annihilate the entire royal family linage. They stem from Domenico, who was the best friend of the first king of Crescentia, King Alejandro I. according to legend, Alejandro wanted all the power and glory for himself, so he had Domenico framed, tried and executed for treason. All of Domencio's followers became enraged and swore that Alejandro's line would die- "If not today, someday in the near future."

Meanwhile, The Royal Rose Selection is a tradition held by the royal family of Crescentia for hundreds of years. Twenty five lucky girls are chosen to live at the royal court and compete for the title of the Royal Rose, the wife to Crown Prince Christopher. Every girl from all across the kingdom would give anything to be one of the roses.

All but one girl, that is.

Gwynevere is many things- a master archeress, a historical reenactoress, a land locked sea siren with a magnificently enchanting voice, an adventurously brave tomboy with a uniquely creative mind. When her controlling parents submit her name for the Royal Rose, Gwynevere is furious. She had no intention of ever becoming Crescentia's next princess! In order to save her family name from the costly mistakes of her parents, Gwynevere has no choice but to go to the palace when her name is chosen for the Royal Rose Selection and find a wealthy husband at court. Gwynevere has plans to change all of Crescentia's mind about her. Armed with only her wits and courage, she must go up against her biggest foe- an assassin with sights on the crown prince.
