John Winchester King of Hell must pass the throne to one of his two sons Sam or Dean.

The two have always been competing against each other for the favors of their father.

Sam is the most stubborn and resentful because he knows internally that Dean is their father's favorite, which is true. John finds that Dean has more guts to assume the throne of hell and all that implies.

But on the other hand Sam has always been the most cunning and the most devious. He is a born manipulator. But the wimpy side of his second son disgusts him horribly. There is no place for feelings in hell.

To make his choice John decides to submit them to a series of tests they will have to perform on Earth under the supervision of the demon Regina in whom he places all his confidence. When they leave hell Sam Dean and Regina are charged with a specific mission and yet none of them will fulfill what has been asked
