In a world where slaves were never freed, the wealthy and poor were divided up into two groups by society. The poor worked to keep whatever little bit they had left that the wealthy hadn't yet stolen. If they couldn't pay off their debts, every member of the family was sold off into slavery. Some families just gave up, left their homes, and moved into the street to become beggars. Alayna Barnett is one survivor of many that has determined to avoid slavery at all costs. At least, that's until she was thrown into a world that she's dreaded since before she can remember.

Nadia Rose Quinn had a sketchy child hood. It all began at the age of five when her parents split up. Then at the age of seven her mam passed away from livers disease after being an alcoholic for two years. Then she was passed through a number of different orphanages till she was ten. He gramps took her in after that and she has lived with her ever since on their farm in the English country side. So when her grandma Sheila passes away Nadia is beside her self, if she though her life was bad then it's worse now. Not old enough to take care of her self at the age of fifteen she is told she can either go back to Italy and live with a man she can hardly remember or be put back in to the adoption system. Not wanting to go back in her life she chooses to travel to Italy to live with her farther. At first she hates it. The world flooded, and only small peaks now rise above the water, with civilization confined to waterborne cities with limited resources. The cities are ruled by tyrannous bosses, enforcing their will with an army of thugs and Stoneweavers, those able to use the remnants of magic from the old times. Resources are maintained by regular Cleansing of the populace, selling the poorest into slavery as miners. With a Cleansing due, what danger are an escaped slave and a thief to this delicate society? As an experiment, I'm publishing the first draft chapters from this heroic fantasy on a daily basis, while still writing it. I'm about halfway through but at the current rate should be able to keep up the pace until it's finished (admittedly, many of the chapters are fairly short). It's also an exercise in discovery writing, as I'm working from a very loose outline on this one, but I have a fairly good idea of the ending by this point. The chapters may get updated to fix typos, or if elements need changing due to future chapters, but otherwise the final version should be made available as an ebook.Dokončeno
