However, beneath the seemingly happy and prosperous Kingdom, a rebellion against her rule was brewing. The unfolding war between Darkness and Light, ruthless lawfulness, and the freedom of the heart inevitably drew in the main characters: Emir Cavalleys, an ambitious low-born Guardian; Seku Val'Larnez, a prince of a powerful Elven house; and Nicola Smith, a 28-year-old from rural Canada.
