frustating perfection

"What are you doing?"
"L-Leave me!"
He slapped me, obviously going to leave a mark from the tingling feeling in my cheek.
I hated it. I hated how he hated me back, I hated us. I wanted to love him so bad, but I can't handle it anymore.
Seconds later, I felt something cold plunge into me with a sharp pain following after. Everything went black after I heard stomping on the wooden floorboards towards me.

I sat on the picnic blanket as he sat beside me, looking up at the sky.
He set this up for me as a surprise, so I had no say in whether or not he went and did it.
"Thank you"
"For what?" He asked, with his eyebrow slightly raised and still looking at the sky.
"For everything.."
