What do you think of when you hear some one say, "That Person's BiPolar." Is it just mood swings? A serial killer in the making? This fictional story shows a different perspective to the disorder than what the media shows us.
When they were children, Jake Flier and Makenzie Dahl got shipped off to a Low Security Prison because they had a mental disorder. Everyone with BiPolar Disorder, Dissociative Personality Disorder, Schitzophrenia and other illnesses like those are thrown into other prisons, depending on which disorder they had and how severe it is.
Therapists aren't what they used to be. They don't help these people, they make their lives worse with neglect. One Therapist decides to betray what she learned in school and training to expose people with these disorders for what they really are; people. Will the world believe her?

Kate was used to dealing with unfair consequences. Having a less than ideal home life and no one else to support her, she had learned to deal with things on her own. She had learned not to feel and especially not to hope. So when someone new comes into her life Kate does the best thing she can think of, she shuts them out. But, after a series of events in the course of one day, they are thrown back together, and Kate is given the chance to explain herself. Explain why she was so guarded and why she had closed herself off in the first place. And maybe along the way Kate learns that things aren't always so bad. Kids are put in mental institutions, young children sent to juvenile detention centers, families torn apart, and the hopes of living a normal life are ruined. I never live a normal life. I was five when placed in a mental institution. Yes, I met friends there and fulfilled some what of a destiny there but I grew up isolated and then faced with war. I, now, must push through this ever changing life to either die trying to fix everything or prevail and complete all that is set before me.
