Prologue

" Why do I smoke "? I should stop. That's what I say everyday of my life. Being a smoker is stupid. I don't even know why I started smoking in the first. I guess I started smoking because I saw my friend smoke, so I guess I wanted to try. Then that's when I became a smoker. And then just last week my friends started to quit smoking and now I'm the only one. Now I'm kind of pissed off at them but I still hang out with them. So my best friend's name is Jake Smith. But his real name is Jacob Smith. I call him Jake. And Jake is actually letting me spend the night at his house. His parents are nice, even though they don't even know that Jake used to smoke. But that's a good thing. Then I walk to Jake's house. And that's when I get hit by a car, and I'm in the hospital. Then that's when I knew I was going to die.

Running from the gang
In life, we do things we regret, or that we wish we could wipe from our memory forever. At the age of 15, I didn't think I'd regret anything until I was an adult. I considered myself care free. I lived life one day at a time. Well, as much as a 15 year old can. But in life, there are also things that we can't change, that we can't forget. Circumstances change, events occur, and life as we know it is altered forever. For me, it was one night, that set in motion a series of events that I wouldn't be able to forget, even if I tried to. *************************** My life was spectacular, or cool, but I was content, and that's all that mattered. I wasn't overly popular, I wasn't the prettiest girl, and I didn't live in a mansion. I did have a great boyfriend, and amazing friends, and hell, I wasn't doing too bad in school either. But that all changed one night, as I was walking home at night. I witnessed a man murder someone he claimed was a snitch, something to do with a gang deal gone wrong. When I found my parents dead the next day in a serial killers wet dream, my naive self decided the best thing I could do, was run, giving up everything I loved. After 2 years, 3 dead members of the gang and a new school, I was found. When secrets are unraveled and with the FBI somehow involved, nothing is as it ever seemed.Complete

I was close to dying if not from my sister. I went from bitches at school to my alcoholic, addict abusing mother. There wasn't really anything all that special about me. I considered myself an average person with average looks. That being said, I also considered myself a very gaunt person. I was sort of a nerd. Not like a big 'ooooh, look at him, with his glasses, pocket protector and retainer', I of course had never worn any of those things. I'm a quiet type of nerd . Quiet, as in my only friends were people who weren't exactly as bad off as me, but you know, they weren't the most popular either. One girl, Jade who I considered to be an overachieving busybody. He was almost like me, which made us the perfect best friend. He was also pretty popular, even though he hung out with me. Neither Jade, nor Alex were terrible to look at. Adrianna parties and gets drunk and smokes all the time. One day she just can't stand staying with her dad for any longer and goes to her neighbor Daniel's house till her friend picks her up. She went back completely wasted and needed a place to stay for the night since her dad was on her ass about getting drunk so she stays with him. I hope you like the book, there is going to a mild amount of swearing and lots of drinking and smoking. Everything is made up beside the state they live in.
