Emerie Gale, a young poor girl, is chosen as the monthly sacrifice to the gods of Olympus. Her beauty is known and appreciated by the townspeople around Greece, especially in her own little one. But she isn't killed off like she thought she'd be: instead, she was chosen by Ares himself to be his destined. But danger surrounds Ares, and not long after she settles into her new home, it now follows her.

With a raging god always trailing behind her, the threat of an evil sorcerer, and duties of a Greek queen, Emerie slowly conquers her fears, and on the way, the heart of an angry god.

"Ares would be dead in just a few short moments. Emerie no doubt felt his heart betraying him, pumping the last few spurts of blood through his body that lay weak in the destruction he caused.

His eyes clouded as the life slowly drained from him, an image of the woman he loved so deeply being the last thing he saw. Never in his entire life did he expect to be in this situation. But he wouldn't change anything. No. That's the last thing he wanted. There would finally be peace within his family and the community of Olympus... finally."
