It's 2108 and there's a murderer going about killing in sporadic, wild manners. With the entire country on the edge, it seems that just one person won't be quite enough to search and find.

Alexander "Xander" Smith had always kept a select few people close to him - two or three he could actually trust. Ephraim Kenn was one of them, or so Xander thought until files upon files of murders began to fill his desk and they all trailed back to Ephraim. Struggling between what he knows and what he wants, Xander has to decipher whether or not the man he had become infatuated with is the masked, knife-wielding murderer no one thought he could be before Xander ends up in the files himself.

-

in which a young, genius detective in the distant future is in love with his best friend (who happens to be straight as a professionally crafted straight flagpole) but is also caught up in a series of murder cases that all lead back to said best friend.

But I'm taking her with me,″ his younger brother replied, his expression unwavering. ‶Don't you dare come near her! She won't end up like you!″ the eldest retorted, his eyes ablaze with anger. Amidst their yelling match, a young girl sat under the table, her eyes overflowing with tears and head throbbing uncontrollably. Her family had always been an unconventional one, but that day marked its transition from unconventional to unhappy. ************************* Miles apart, a young boy looked at the star marred sky with twinkling eyes.
