This is the story of Arrk, an adolescent orc who is destined to one day become the chief of the mysterious mist-ral clan. That is, until his father, the current clan's chief, goes missing while battling against a foreign empire. With the fate of his father unknown, the clan falls into chaos. Infighting has begun, and an all out clan war seems inevitable. Arrk then has no choice, but to leave his homeland, and venture out into the world of humans in order to find his father. However, life outside his clan's forest is far more dangerous than he expected. Now, he must learn how to survive in a world where greed is king, corruption nests within the hearts of rulers, and where a conquering empire could spell doom for all non-humans.
