Zoe Ambrose has been a foster care runaway since she was seven, and was raised by a grandmotherly woman  named Azure. The summer after seventh grade(UK: year seven) she was celebrating her fourteenth birthday when she noticed events involving Azure that changed everything she thought she knew. 

Fast forward a few months and Zoe finds herself unwillingly heading to a school of magic, heralding a name far stranger than she'd ever heard. Hogwarts. There she meets all kinds of people, makes friends, and gets pulled into a battle that went far deeper than she'd originally thought.
