This book is the tale of a mystery that was never solved. It is a mystery that to this day stumps even the world's greatest minds. It's a story that only I, Alissa Lauren Kiang, can tell the truth about. This story is something that I had to experience with four of my best friends, people who had been there for each other for all of my life, through all of my ups and downs. While I had to go through hardships, they were always with me. They knew everything about me, and I, them. We were with each other through everything we ever had to deal with. Through depression, through loss, and through accomplishments. No matter what the occasion, they were always there for me, and I for them. They were people I would soon realize meant the world to me. But as the saying goes, you never really know what you have until you truly lose it forever.
P.S. there is a little bit of blood and gore mentioned, and suicide and murders occur, so TRIGGER WARNING

But after a month rolls around, Alison still thinks the whole situation was a bit odd; Gabe could and would never do that to himself. She would know, considering their friendship since fourth grade. They were right, I should have listened. I knew something was weird, but not this bad. Church on Sundays, book club on Mondays, Bible study on Wednesdays, their kids' games on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Charity donations on Fridays, and dates on Saturdays. I guess its true what they say. The biggest monsters don't hide in the darkness of your closet. Instead, they smile in your face in broad daylight. The worst demons don't conceal themselves in your shadow. They thrive in the light. The darkest souls own the brightest smiles. A light so captive, you don't even realize they've gotten so close. Don't even realize when you've befriended them and their darkness has touched you.
