❝ Fire, meet Gasoline. ❞

When nuclear warfare bomb destroys civilization on Earth, the only survivors are those residing on 12 international space stations orbiting earth. Three generations later, The Ark is dying due to life support now failing, giving them about four more months of survival left. Desperately looking for a solution, the ark's council decide to send 100 juvenile prisoners back to the planet to test its habitability.

Rose Valencia is the Ark's second youngest Zero-G Mechanic. Well, she was. After a tragic accident happened in her station, Rose retired from the Mecha Station and was recruited to do black market trades by the Ark's most powerful merchant, Nygel. When Raven Reyes, Rose's former partner and best friend, comes asking for a pressure regulater, Rose turns her down with a harshness in her throat. But, when Abby Griffin, The Ark's infamous doctor and council member, comes asking for the same thing, Rose's interests begins to peak.

When Rose finds out they sent 100 delinquents down to Earth, survived, and now Raven was fixing up almost a two decade old escape pod, she makes a deal with them. She will figure out a way to take a pressure regulator from her boss, if they allow her to join them on their journey. Rose had nothing on The Ark worth fighting for anymore, only taunting memories that followed her everyday.

It's safe to say, Earth was definitely not what Rosita Valencia was expecting it to be.

"Bell, I'm serious," I say, "I'm putting more trust in you then I have anyone else." Bellamy grabs my hands. I can't help but blush at the gesture. He leans in close to me. "And I will treasure it," Bellamy whispers, "I'd walk through hellfire to keep you." In that small moment, something comes to light. I like Bellamy, forever and always. --- Emery had a rough past, he father died when she was 6, her mother abused her all her life. Emery finally got revenge, the cost of it? Her life. On the Ark, when you commit a crime, even something as small as stealing, you will get floated, or sucked out into space. If you're under the age of 18, you're locked in the Skybox until you are legally an adult. Emery had been in the Skybox for 5 years, she turned 18 three days before she woke up with guards pushing her over to a dropship with 100 other delinquents. These 100 kids must learn to survive while they try and get communication with the Ark. They're faced with deadly weapons and deadly people. --- This is the first book in The King and His Queen Series. ALL RIGHTS GO TO KASS MORGAN AND CREATORS OF THE 100 TV SERIES/BOOKS. In the TV Series, Bellamy Blake is 23 when the 100 land on Earth, I'm not one for Freshmen dating Seniors, so I definitely am not comfortable with a 5 year age difference between Emery and Bellamy. I have decided that to ease my discomforts, I will instead follow the book's interpretation of Bellamy's age, which is 20. This story follows SEASON 1 of THE 100. Books will be separated into separate stories! - Highest (notable) rankings: #19 - The 100 (5/5/23) #1 - Griffin (3/19/24)

Ataraxia (at·a·rax·ia) (n.) a state of blissful and serene calmness; freedom from emotional disturbance and anxiety. [ Bellamy Blake x OC ] When Freya was a kid, a kind family helped her out of a bad situation, taking care of her when her own father wouldn't - being too resentful towards the little girl for his wife's passing. During one of the many days on which he had locked Freya out of their living quarters to fend for herself, she had bumped into a little boy not much older than herself, Bellamy, and his mother Aurora. The two kids grew to be fast friends. Living on a space station after the nuclear end of the world, Freya didn't have many places to go, and from then on, the Blakes became her refuge, and after spending years escaping to their home, she moved in. She and Bellamy were inseparable, and she loved his mother, and his illegally hidden little sister, Octavia, just like they were her own, and relished in the feeling of finally having a family - of feeling safe and loved. But everything fell apart when Bellamy's well-intended plan to give Octavia a taste of freedom backfired. Octavia was imprisoned and sentenced to death, and Aurora was floated into space for breaking the Ark's strict population law of only having a single child. Freya couldn't forgive Bellamy for the consequences, and their once-strong bond shattered. Their friendship turned into avoidance and resentment, with both cutting all contact. When Octavia, along with 99 other teenaged prisoners awaiting their death sentence, was scheduled to be sent to Earth in a desperate attempt to save humanity, with the Ark's dwindling life-support threatening its survival yet again, everything changes. Determined to protect her against the unknown, Bellamy and Freya both sneak onto the dropship, forcing them to confront their fractured relationship in the harsh realities of a new world. Delyn Kane felt sheltered her whole life. She breathed borrowed air, drank recycled water. All she's ever known was the Ark, the place that held the last of mankind for 97 years. At least, that's what she thought. The world that they thought was on fire and burned with radiation held human life. But Delyn didn't think she could see that world. With the Ark running out of oxygen, the Chancellor and the Council were taking every precaution to save what they thought was the rest of the human race, and that meant sending 100 juvenile delinquents to Earth.
