The Black Canvas
The canvas symbolizes the mind. A white canvas is a healthy, normal functioning mind. The colors that get painted on are different emotions. But no matter how much paint is on that canvas, it is still a white canvas underneath. Now when it is a pure black canvas, it is a mind that is tortured. A mind that contains disorders like anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, bipolar, PTSD, etc. An unstable mind. :A girl plagued with bad memories finds somebody who she had been looking for all her life. Well, I wouldn't say all her life, being as she is only 20, but the majority of her life, she has been lonely. The more she continues to get to know this special person, the more she starts to question her own thoughts. When things don't add up, she is desperate for answers.Concluída

Art is a form of communication. Whether it is through music, through writing or through painting, every note you play, every word you write and every drop of paint you put on the canvas displays an emotion. For many, it is also a form of relief, a way to say everything you wish you'd say and a way to escape everything. Some paint on a daily basis, other paint on impulse. "Life is like a sketchbook. There's a beginning and an end. When you start, your drawings will start simple but become more detailed over time. Some are filled with color while some are black and white. Some were easy to create while others took more hard work. Some pages were bent and scribbled while others have been torn out completely, never to be seen again. Some people appreciate your art while others tend to criticize. Your sketchbook is your life. The question is.. What art will you create?" Jayda Joseph lives in a very strict household of Christians. She only pretends to be faithful to her religion, so her parents do not find out what really goes on in her life. Jayda wants to listen to her parents, but she cares about her freedom more which leads to a frightening mistake that completely changes her life. She meets a boy by the name of Charles. He is what brings her life to hell, and a new member to the family. Art is whatever we want it to be. It's definition malleable as it passes through person to person. The same can be said about aesthetics. As human beings, we are all different and find beauty in many things and what we define as beautiful differs from person to person, young and old, meek and bold. Art is equal to beauty, it is unique to the individual and special to those who can see the passion behind it. Carter shows her art by leaving indelible ink stains on people's skin, a mark that can never be erased: the mark of her masterpiece. Harry, on the other hand, spreads art wherever he goes with a simple gesture, kind words, and, of course, the ink on his skin. She's looking to make her mark.
