Scarlett Blood lives in a post-apocalyptic world where most of society has been wiped out by a war between humans and demons. The war ended when the two parties came to a shaky agreement. 

At the age of sixteen demons are given a choice -give up their powers and live with society as a just-barely-citizen with almost no rights, or be sent to the National Guard and fight for someone you hate. If they don't like either of those options, they're kicked out and become Outcast. 

Now, obviously Scarlett doesn't like the first two of these choices, so she becomes an Outcast -the one percent of demons that choose to brave the Wasteland, the uncolonized area of land devastated by the war, rather than become powerless or a bloodthirsty weapon ...but the Wasteland is full of dangers, and soon Scarlett may have to make a terrible choice, between what she knows is right and the way things have always been.

In the United States, a new disease has surfaced and has a fatality rate of 100%. There is no medicine which can cure this disease. The disease destroys the body from the inside, causing organs to burst, poisons bloodstreams, shuts down vital organs, causes the bones to crystallize and in severe cases, welcomes in the other diseases. The only way to fight such a disease is through the power of will. Only the will to survive can best the disease, causing it to slowly go away as the body fights back. As the victim wants to survive and fights the disease, the better chance they have. But, everyone who has caught the disease gives up hope, and dies a slow and brutal death. This disease is known as Stigma X, or STX. Meet Ashley Reynolds, an 18 year-old girl, who is a senior in high school. Ashley comes from a family who grants her nothing but misery, and hates her very existence. When Ashley caught the disease at the end of her freshman year, the rejoicing coming from Ashley's family caused her heart to falter, and soon found herself welcoming death. For her senior year, Ashley moves into her aunts mansion in order for Ashley to live the life every child deserves. There, Ashley encounters new friends and a guy who has changed her outlook on life. However, the disease inside of Ashley is starting to eat away at her, and the attacks from it causing her excruciating pain. Will Ashley give up on life before she gets a chance to live it out properly? Will the anguish and suffering Ashley endured for her entire life be too much for her to want to continue living?

She will be reunited with old friends, gain new ones, find out deeper secrets about her past than she ever could have imagined, and learn that the world is even more corrupt than she always thought. *** This story contains sexist ideology, mention of cheating, some gruesome scenes, and a whole lot of monsters and darkness. It isn't overly mature... there isn't much explicit language or sexual scenes, but there is a bit of violence, so just keep that in mind... and despite all that negativity, ENJOY!
