Gabby Benton is spending her last summer before college in her aunt's sleepy beach town in Maine. She didn't leave very much behind when she graduated high school, but she may get everything she's ever wanted during her short summer. Gabby gets a job at the local coffee shop and befriends the owner's two kids, silly, talkative Mara, and enigmatic, witty Sam. How is she supposed to get through this summer when she can barely take her eyes from Sam's biceps?

Summers are supposed to be that time of the year that you should look forward to. No school, hours at the beach, late night parties. What's not to love? Three words. My neighbor's grandson. For once in her life, Maliah Arias is looking forward to her summer. It's the summer before senior year and life couldn't be better. She has a hot college boyfriend, plenty of Dl soccer scholarship offers, and she just went through a massive glow up. To make matters better, her neighbor's annoying yet very hot grandson, Jackson Cruz, who usually visits every summer, is away in Europe. When circumstances change, Maliah finds herself once again in the presence of Jackson, who seems hell-bent on making her life miserable. Although as time passes, the two of them find themselves growing closer and closer, whether they like it or not. Tears are shed, hearts are broken, and Maliah finds herself wondering if she'll be able to survive the summer and make it to senior year.
