The Unexpected Descendant

She then continued to regain her standing position. But she had pushed herself too hard away from the pole. She was falling back and was waiting for a painful impact. But instead, she felt arms encircle around her waist. She put her hands on the hands that met in the middle of her midsection and quickly turned around. She turned around too quickly that she almost fell again.

But this time she flung her arms around Rome's neck as he in response kept his arms around her, but pulled her closer. Hope had forgotten that Rome was present as she was trying to walk. Hope slowly lifted her head up and was met with piercing black eyes. As if becoming aware of the situation, Hope quickly looked away from Rome's steely stare. She then felt her chin being grasped by rough hands that moved ever so gently to look back up at the same black pair of eyes. "Don't ever look away from me"...
