"I can't give you that. Perhaps, we'll all live a normal life again, after all this. I hope so. But maybe we won't. Your ability to get through it, as this gets harder, that is a hundred times more powerful than slapping a smile on your face and pretending like everything is just fine. No one can give your life back, you got to take it back. Do you understand?"

All Maxine Kane felt for eighteen years of her life was sharp needles the size of her finger being pressed into her skin as the horrid black-green liquid entered her system with each trial. The familiar metallic taste of malicious blood between the cracks of her teeth after each visit; scars covering her body inside out.

Maxine was not like any other human being, she had a curse trailing through her bloodstream since birth and she would stop at anything to get rid of it-even if it meant getting rid of herself.

But what if that curse can possibly shine some light on the 100? Would Maxine let it? Or will she be too afraid of how it would get out of hand, turning her into the monstrosity she had always been afraid of becoming?

You know what they say-If you're going to jump off a cliff, you might as well fly.
