First book in the series "The shattered Empire" In a world still reeling from the aftermath of a devastating war, survival is the only rule. Society's new order demands strength and obedience, and the Academy is the crucible where the next generation of soldiers is forged-or broken. For Ayla, being sent to the Academy is not a choice but a command from her father, a once-celebrated war hero who has spent years trying to mold his only daughter into the son he never had. Here, only the strong survive, and the weak are discarded. Ayla enters the Academy with a target on her back-small, smart, and constantly underestimated. Her mind is her greatest weapon, but standing out in a place that values brute force makes her an instant enemy among her peers. As she navigates deadly trials designed to weed out the weak, Ayla must battle not only the relentless physical challenges but also the animosity of cadets like Marcus, who resent her every success. Among the cadets, Ayla finds unexpected allies. As Ayla fights to prove her worth, she discovers that the Academy's trials are more than just tests of endurance-they are a brutal game of survival orchestrated by a government desperate to maintain control. Each day pushes her closer to the edge, reveals glimpses of the Academy's dark secrets and the lengths the powerful will go to shape the perfect soldier. In a world where strength is currency and failure is fatal, Ayla must decide what she's willing to sacrifice to survive-and who she's willing to trust. Because in the Academy, enemies are everywhere, and the greatest threat might be the one standing beside her.

Book Two of the "Fate of Duro Series" There had been no hope for Duro. Those left after the war were destined to destroy themselves, driven by greed and desperation, pushing the once-proud men of Duro toward extinction. But then there was a new hope, a spark of life for the future. Promised to her clan's future leader, Larken, long before she even reached womanhood, Asara was chosen to be the vessel of the future-a role decided for her before she ever had a say. As a child, she didn't understand the weight of that promise. As a teenager, she was filled with rage, longing for the freedom other girls had to flirt and laugh with boys their own age. Now, on the cusp of adulthood, Asara feels trapped in an impossible future. She has spent years keeping Larken at a distance, wanting nothing to do with the man she's been bound to her entire life. Though Larken has always respected her wishes, the unspoken weight of their arranged future looms. But Asara's insecurities run deeper than just the arrangement. In her heart, she fears she will never truly be seen as a wife in Larken's eyes, only as the vessel for his heirs-the subject of duty and tradition, never a partner in love. Despite his kindness and patience, she doubts she could ever be more than a symbol of obligation to him, a person bound to him by the expectations of others, not by choice. Asara knows her fate is inevitable, but what she craves is something beyond the arrangement: she wants to be loved for who she is, not for what she represents to the clan. She fears that, even if Larken takes her as his wife, she will always be a means to an end-a subject, not a beloved. Asara knows that time is running out. Sooner or later, her secret will be exposed, and the distance she has fought to maintain between herself and Larken will disappear. When that day comes, will Larken see her as anything more than a tool of the clan's future? Will she ever be more than just a means to an end?
The 130th Hunger Games by candysmart5
37 parts Complete
Far into the future of humankind, there existed a country named Panem, which occupied what was once North America. It consisted of thirteen districts and one cruel, powerful Capitol that ruled them. But after the rebellion of Katniss Everdeen, Panem became a scattered country of chaos and, after several years of struggling and failing to found a new government, wore away into extinction. One hundred years later, Panem rose up out of the ashes and conquered all of Europe, establishing their own land there and naming themselves New Panem. To honor the ways of their original country, New Panem brought back the Hunger Games and started where they had left off—the 76th Hunger Games. About 50 years later, New Panem is thriving. In District 4, 12-year-old Sandi Coin (a descendant of President Coin) is living the good life—until her first reaping. When Sandi gets chosen to participate in the 130th Hunger Games, she knows her life is going to turn upside-down—and come to its end. And as she travels around the Capitol to participate in the events before the Games, Sandi finds herself in the midst of many odd characters—an over-enthusiastic mentor, a grumpy stylist, a murderous accompanying tribute, three kind friends, a cute boy, and a hostile group of killers—who are not who they seem to be. Meanwhile, Sandi faces problems of her own during and before the Games, and soon she is not sure who she really is. Will she be able to survive the horrifying Hunger Games, or will she let her troubles lead her to her doom? Entry for the #asawritcon
