With the ongoing war against Stellaーtheir neighboring countryー Fiore needs new troops and fast. Unfortunately for Lucy Heartfilia, her family is dirt-poor and her twin sister, Ashley Heartfilia, is older by nine hours, which apparently makes her fourteen at the perfect moment for the army to take her away.

Determined to never let this happen, Lucy pulls a trick. When the soldiers take her away instead to a military training camp, she's registered as Ashley Heartfilia. She never sees her family again.

Military life isn't all its cracked up to be. It can break you sometimes, or make you stronger. 

Eight years later, "Ashley" Heartfilia is a name revered by both sides of the war. Attached to it is a reputation as the most skilled general ever to fight. The most brutal killer ever to march.

And when she's sent to the Fairy Tail military to train the new troops, she runs into Natsu Dragneel's smart mouth and hotheaded attitude, which immediately makes her form up a mission to break his nose.
