13-year-old Heather has everything she needs, except for her mother and father's love and support. Raised for two years by her parents Katy Perry and John Mayer, Heather enters into a life full of disappointment and sorrow as she watches them take off to Hollywood to start their careers, leaving her behind in the care of their best friends.
Katy would do anything to fix her relationship with Heather, as would John, and now that Heather is in their care after so many years of not seeing her, will things turn out the way she wants? Or will they turn towards the other way?
