Medieval Scotland (Pictland) 650 AD

Several tragic deaths... a misunderstanding, and an escape
from certain death.
After his father's violent death, Kieran and his mother escape
to neutral lands. On the cusp of adulthood, the past catches
up with him and takes everything he had... well almost.
As he struggles with his demons, both real and imaginary,
he finds love and support in unexpected corners. Read on to
learn more of how an entire nation crumbled... all because of a
terrible misunderstanding between two clans that had become
so much more. The terrible wars fought on both sides, the
ever-growing grudges, the spreading darkness, the lives lost
and blood split. And somewhere in the midst of that darkness,
a spring brought on by new love and hope for a new reign.

Firstly, a huge thanks to my friend Sophia (@sopheyyis or @B1ashe) for drawing the cover. She is an amazing artist, go follow her on instagram and tik toc because she is the best. Warning: this is not for kids or people sensitive to triggers. I tend to write on the dark side, just so you know. There will be no smut, but there will be mentions of sex, abuse, abandonment, a little bit of swearing and this list could be updated as the story goes on. I usually don't write romance, but I want to get better at it, so here we go... About updates, I wish I could say I will be posting at least once a day but I know that won't be true because I'm currently editing my book that I am publishing this summer (2020) and this story is more of just a de-stressor (is that a word) so the grammar and writing, especially the tense (it will most likely flip between present and past tense, just pretend it is all the same) might not be perfect, but I just felt like writing it. I will publish at least once a week Now with that out of the way, I just wanna say, hope ya enjoy the story. Have a great day and keep being your amazing you!

In the future, there is no medicine that can save you. The government is gone. The days are hot, and the dangers many. Welcome to the continent of Aotearoa. The country of Gossfordshire is in crisis - the King is dead, his children are being murdered, and trade with their neighboring country Motueka has dried up leaving Gossfordshire on the brink of starvation. Ritty, the King's son, seeks to restore the peace and bring Gossfordshire back to its glory days, but his efforts are increasingly hampered by Randall, the head councilman-come-dictator, who sets out to bring the kingdom under his control. Also stifling Rittys goals of normalcy is Magnus, aided by councilwoman Thatcher, who sees a much more egalitarian vision for the future of Gossfordshire. Between Randall's aim of national domination, Rittys want for normality, Thatcher and Magnus's revolution, and a mass migration crisis moving upwards from the Southern States, only one thing can be certain; Gossfordshire is entirely unprepared for what is coming. Damsels aren't supposed to wield swords, especially ancient swords that will have the blood of thousands spilled across it. ✵✵✵✵✵ Deep in the mountains of Cambria, there lives a legendary queen of unparalleled beauty, benevolence and brutality. She seeks only to avenge her family, but it is easier said than done. She must travel far into the formidable lands of Northumbria to find the king who killed her father. With the help of an assassin turned friend, queen Una sees that nothing can get in her way, except a secret that will shatter her reality forever. ✵✵✵✵✵ EXCERPT ✵✵✵✵✵ "I can understand what it must be like for you, trapped in the walls of the north mountains. While Christian Bryttania grew, your pagan roots began to rot as your people lay waste to the invasions of the Danes and Vikings. A millennia ago, most lived and died within the short distance of which they were born. Their existence was bounded by the wilderness in the unyielding darkness of ancient woods, by the ice shown peaks of impenetrable mountains. This old truth is your reality, is it not?" ✵✵✵✵ WARNING CONTAINS ✵✵✵✵ Disturbing Images Strong Sexual Content Strong Violence Pervasive Language ✵✵✵✵✵✵ Word Count ✵✵✵✵✵✵ Number of words: 191,554 Number of pages in book: 734
