The rain is hitting hard against the street, hiding the tears falling down my cheeks. But it doesn’t dull my pain, not even a little bit. I hear footsteps behind me slowly catching up to me, for every step they seem to be getting more hurried. I turn around, immediately I recognize the silhouette catching up to me and I turn on my heel and run away. He calls my name and the breath is knocked out of me, he lightly grips my arm and turns me towards him. His eyes are screaming, but I can’t hear or see what it is he wants to say. He strokes away my hair from my forehead with such gentleness that it sends a thrill through my entire body, the familiar warmth in the pit of my stomach makes it self-known by his touch and I can’t help the smile that thugs my lips upwards. He crashes my body to his and I cling on to him like he is the last breath I’ll ever breathe. I hide my face in is chest and sob quietly. He whispers the little words into my ear making me shiver.
