Pelmen hates being a tanner, but that’s all he would ever be, thanks to the rigid caste system amongst his people, the hevelens. Then he meets Master Galn Boisencroix and his family. The master carpenter opens up a world of archery to young Pelmen, who excels at his newfound skill. But Pelmen’s intractable father would have none of it, and tries to force Pelmen to stay in the tannery.

One day, however, Pelmen’s best friend and Master Galn's son, Teleg, disappears. Lured away by the prospect of untold riches through mining amberrock, the most precious substance in the world, Teleg finds himself a prisoner of the Nylevs, fierce fire-wielding worshippers of the god of destruction.

Now Pelmen must leave all he knows behind, overcome his fears and travel across the land, in search of his childhood friend. Along the way, he will ally himself with strange and fantastic beings: a shaman who controls the Breath of Aoles, or the power of the wind, a krongos, a creature of the mineral realm who can become living rock, and a malian, adept at water magic.

The Mages - Water, Earth, Fire, and Air - are taken to a sheltered location named the Mage Sanctuary to train together and prepare for their eventual battle with the Venom's Curse and to rid of the trepidation he has cast across all of Zertima. However, not all of the Mages are willing to commit their life to train with the others and help save the mage world. Ignacia, the Elemental Mage of Fire, is the newest and last mage to be Founded and come to the others. They control our winds and our seas. They deliver newborn trees and creatures of the wilderness. And they bring the least bits of purity to all lands in each Dimension and Galaxy. Everything was bliss, cheerful, and active, until Queen Europhia, Queen of all elements combined, announced a strange and dark presence approaching their land. She called the most powerful elementals of Elementia to fight off the darkness that approach their land. Five brave souls will come front and figure out the troubles of what their land might fight. Will they win or will they lose? (How was that? Anyway, in some parts of the story, I will add your own characters if you want. Just so you know, the 5 souls are - Nature and shadows, ice and water, fire and time, moon/darkness and wind, sun/light and lightning, time.
