The year is 2016. Joseph, a survivor of 9/11 follows his father's footsteps and enlisted in the military. Not long after, he along with two of his friends were deployed to Iraq among the ranks of some of the best American fighting men: the US Army Rangers. Soon enough they find themselves running in missions aiding their Iraqi allies in the war against terrorism. But just about at the same time, Natasha, a young Spetsnaz GRU operator was on the hunt with her team for a dangerous mercenary-turned-warlord, who killed her father years ago on a mission in Afghanistan. When the Russian government issues the kill order, she was more than happy to carry out the mission.
Will Joe and his friends come back in one piece from their first deployment? Will Natasha find her target and end him for good? Their story goes on...

Lily Porter has two goals the week of vacation: don't burn horribly and don't get into trouble in Mexico. Ellie is serving in the Afghan Police Action when she receives bad news from home. She is told the daughter she hasn’t seen in years is dead. She flies home from war, upset, to do what needs to be done, but once there she finds out all is not as it seems. Ellie’s daughter is alive and unhurt. She is being held by of one of the many debt-recovery corporations. Held, for leverage, to make Ellie do the corporation a favour. Ellie’s daughter will be returned unharmed if Ellie does as they wish. The son of a company director is lost somewhere in the wilderness of post-debt-restructuring America, and hasn't been seen for three days. The company wants Ellie to go and find the kid, and Ellie doesn't know if she can. The one rule she's stuck to all her working life is to never to go to America, but now she might have to. She will have to, if she wants to save the daughter she hasn't seen in years. I've watched it destroy lots of forms of entertainment, relationships, and people. However, politics in fiction is totally different, as it can help with creating stories. This book is simply an action fic based on real-world wars and conflicts, and is primarily a book about fighting for sovereignty and fighting against an invading force.)
