I feel my eyes sting as I try to hold back tears that threaten to spill. I slowly back away and towards the door, I twist the knob.

"Anna ple-"

I rush out the door and out of the house. I step into Max's car, tears streaming down my face.

"I'm sorry Anna, but I had to tell you, I don't care if you completely hate me but as a brother its my job to protect you especially since dad isn't here anymore" Max gives my hand a reassuring squeeze.

I hug Max tightly and let more tears flow down my face.

We reached the hospital and Ryder, still being gentle, jumped out of the car. Zach opened the doors for him and they rushed inside the emergency room. "We need a little help." Lucy Smith is entering into her first year of high school, going to school with her best friend and four out of her five older, protective brothers. Being part of the Smith family gives her some different effects on the the guys around her and some people don't take too kindly to that. "Stop, stay b-back," I try to say confidently but I can't even breath right. Realizing he won't listen I start to turn around planning to make a break for it. "Don't run from me Blaze it won't go well," he growls reading my thoughts causing me to freeze in my spot. "Do not ever think you can get away from me."
