I've heard of many who have lost themselves.
They sold themselves as slaves to a shard of glass.
They decorated the glass with frames of gold, placed them all around them.
They lost themselves in who the glass thought they could be.
The mirrors were gods, and humans worshipped them.
Humans cut themselves, lied to themselves, painted poison on their skin, calling themselves beautiful. They drank ugliness, they destroyed themselves. They drove metal through their ears, they pulled at themselves.
They listened to the lies that the mirrors whispered to them.
They fell for an illusion of beauty, gave up what made them different, and were blinded by the fear of being different.
The Mirror is the god that cannot be pleased.
The human is a slave to a god that cannot be pleased.
