Brooklyn Winters had the perfect life. She got whatever she wanted, the people who surrounded her loved her, she had the funniest, most caring best friend and her parents were perfect. That's until her father passes from a fatal accident. She immediately shuts everyone out. Only her best friend continues to talk to her.
Luke Shapiro, her best friend, ends up growing feelings for her. Once he decides he's growing too many feelings for her he thinks they should stop talking. Since Luke was her only friend she decides to bring her old self back.
The day she's back her old friends accept her. They immediately let her in on everything. She also gets noticed by a guy, George Electra.
When George Electra notices she's back all he wants to do is get into her pants. When he does get the chance he finds himself falling for her. He wants to separate himself from her but it's impossible for him. He never intended to grow feelings for her.
After they graduate from high school Brooklyn gets a scholarship to enroll in the University of Arizona and George gets a sports scholarship to play baseball for the Miami Marlins.
Five years have passed and Brooklyn becomes the manager of the Arizona Cardinals football team. Without knowing, George goes to a Cardinals football game and notices Brooklyn, the girl who ran away with his heart, at a snack bar. He tries to talk to her but she pretends she doesn't know who he is.
With lots of patience and courage he finally gets her back. Only to lose her again.
