Roman Godfrey is entering the eighth grade, and he couldn't be more anxious. Despite being the eldest son of the richest family in Hemlock Grove, Pennsylvania, he is bullied for his appearance and has no friends. Well, almost no friends. His best friend is Peter Rumancek, a Romani outcast who moved to town a few years back. Roman has been madly in love with Peter since the day they met, and his love has only grown as they've gotten closer. However, fearful he will reject him and ruin their friendship, he keeps his feelings quiet. Things start to unravel for both boys, and Peter's mother decides it would be best for them to leave town, much to Roman's dismay. When Peter returns years later, and has discovered Roman has blossomed into quite an attractive young man, will they finally be able to find love? Or has their bond been too severed to repair?
