A story based on what's actually happened to me, but with a small twist. Instead of being girls, there are guys. And it'll be when we're older. I also don't know the other peoples sides to this story but I'll make it as feelsy as possible. It'll also be taken place in the present tense. But I hope you enjoy it nonetheless. A senior named Michael has fallen for another named Kou. But he keeps quiet for a good year. What happens when he confesses? Or when the person Michael thought to be his best friend gets in the way?

This is what the upcoming fanfic "Boku ni Egao : Kimi ni Boku no Kanojo Naritai!"tries to emphasize that when you love, acceptance of one's true character is important. Story : What do you when an unpopular guy suddenly changes image and becomes the new eye candy in school and decides to ask you to be his girlfriend? Masahiko Kou has been just a normal student ever since until he decides to make a turning point of his life and change himself. From a timid guy, he tries to gain some confident and aims to stand out. He notices another student, Naoki Michiko, somehow boyish and has a rough attitude and rumored as a “tomboy” even if she's not. Although she tries to act girly, it doesn't suit her so she just sticks to her current image but Kou, understanding what it is to be an outcast, decides to help her and share his excitement with her so he proposes to make her his girlfriend all of a sudden. Michiko thinks he's crazy and is just messing with her but Kou actually pursues, trying to act as the perfect boyfriend everybody dreams of. He wouldn't care when people label them as an odd couple, he would prove to them soon that Michiko and he will become the “best couple” in school. He would flirt with her publicly and openly shows sweet gestures to her. To Michiko, this is just too unexpected and she heard from the others that Kou was a timid student so she can't understand what's happening to him and thinks that maybe he's trying too hard and somehow feels the need to make him realize that being one's true self is better than changing to have others' approval.
