After a terrible car crash resulting in the death of their parents, 17 year olds Dipper and Mabel Pines are sent back to Gravity Falls to live with their Grunkles. The Grunkles don't fully agree with Mabels logic, but are still distant with Dipper, for they think he's a freak because of his anxiety. And so in the one place he felt he could truly call home, Dipper was now alone and hated by the "family" that once loved him. One night, Dipper overhears the family talking about how useless he is and, doing the only thing he knows, he runs. They are struggling to just keep food on the table and are on the verge of getting kicked out of their small attic flat. He feels like everything is spiraling out of control until Bill Cipher, a man obviously of higher money and class, comes to Dipper with an insane idea. One that only a crazy person would ever consider possible.
