A warm feeling of euphoria sweeps over me, temporarily taking the bone-crushing pain away. Arthur’s blue orbs glaze over as he stares at me.
My vision becomes flooded with distorted pictures of an unknown boy and girl hugging, kissing, and nurturing a baby. The vision becomes clearer and I realized with a shock that the girl is me and the boy is Arthur. The vision ends and reality returns.
The blue-eyed boy timidly smiles. “You’re my mate.”
Then the world becomes black and the pain rages on.
