All her life, Olivia knew she was odd. She could always hear what people were going to say or how they felt, like a voice in her head. She never told anyone, however, for her worst fear was to find out that she was actually crazy and what everyone else thought she was: a freak; so, she secluded her self from human interaction whenever she could. Her parents simply thought that she was very shy and introverted and decided to homeschool her throughout her childhood. Now, after much convincing from her parents to "branch out", it's her first year of college and after only the first semester, she's already lost her first roommate. Olivia is unknowingly assigned to a new roommate for the second semester, Jane. Jane is the first person whose thoughts aren't negative towards Olivia and genuinely wants to be her friend, even after learning her secret. However, only weeks after their arrival from winter break, a well-known and loved professor is murdered in her own classroom. Upon discovery of the gruesome scene, Olivia can hear the thoughts of the killer, who plans to take another victim very soon. She realizes that it's up to her to figure out who the killer is and stop them.
