He's doing all of these horrible things to her because of what he thinks and what she did to do to his brother.

She wanted to fight back, but how could she? He was a werewolf and also completely and utterly insane, she didn't stand a chance. So she suffered, taking the punishment for her bad behavior, rather she deserved it or not.
