Werewolf Bo Rosestone just turned fourteen in his pack's huge coming-of-age celebration. His Alpha, Onyx, initiates him into the Riverdale pack as something akin to a college student.

However, with his change in age, Bo also has the opportunity to find his mate. Soon, though, he realizes she's closer than he originally thought; his best friend of nine years, Dakota Mikhailov, is his mate. The couple is head-over-heels for each other. Good things don't last, though.

Just days after they found each other, Dakota vanishes without a trace.

Bo, grief-stricken, sets out on journey to find his beloved mate. Together with a strange group of individuals - a calico that's oddly attached to Bo and the rogue Elliot, who lost his mate to an animal attack - he ravages the land in order to figure out exactly what has befallen Dakota.
