"I open my eyes. The door is open. The door is open. But nothing happened. I hesitantly walk to the door feeling sore all over. From the crack in the door I can see that this time there might actually be something behind the door. I don't hesitate pulling it open and come face to face with the most beautiful sight. It wasn't a door. It was a cover for the door-sized window keeping a barrier between me and them. Stars shine making the darkness a little less dark and lonely. There is no ground. Stars and darkness are the only thing I can see. I have no idea of how long I was gaping at the most beautiful sight I've seen my entire life. It's like staring into my own piece of beautiful darkness. Suddenly I can remember everything." *** This is the first story I'm posting, so bear with me. I wrote this story for an English assignment and I'm really proud of it to be honest. I've also wanted to post for a really long time but I've been really scared. BUT since I got a good feeling writing this I thought why not. This was all just too much information, I'm sorry lol. So here we go, my first story on here, my introduction to the writing section. I hope you enjoy! -AM

Fear

All I've ever known is fear, and a strange dream...a reoccurring nightmare, where someone is hunting me, chasing me, never gaining or receding, in a strange place where everything is bathed in an orange hue. I live in a grey world where everyone is the same....if anyone finds out I'm not 'normal', it will mean a trip to the 'mind doctor, who I fear more than the nightmares. I could lose what little independence I have...it's all I own, all I am. Until one day, the dream finds me... I wake from the latest nightmare, and find a note warning of danger, and that 'they' are coming. When I wake and hear someone speaking - that I can't see, but can feel...who tells me that I am not who I think I am....I have nowhere to run... Should I listen? Wait? Or submit to the Mind Doctor again? What would you do? Comments invited. This is my first Wattpad published story. Is it good? Is it bad? Could I do better? Please comment and vote if you liked it. Thank you
