She was running around her whole life, trying not to get killed. Lots of bad people were after her. She was safe nowhere. Then she finally settled down in a small safe village and called it home. She fell head over heels in love. She went to highschool. She was welcome in all places. She had a pretty normal life, until everything turned around and the whole world flipped upside down. The life before that little village was a complete nightmare and she worked nine years to get rid of it and make sure it didn't catch up with her again. It caught her and dragged her out of the ground where she had based her roots.
But not so easily would it take her.

Looking back, I should have seen it coming. Paige didn’t like that I went so far away to university. But it was going to only be for two years. She'd join me after she did her two years at community college. I thought we could swing that no problem. We were solid. But she hated the distance. She hated not seeing me every day. They were trouble. You could just tell by looking at them. They didn't talk to anybody, besides others in the group and people in our school spread stories about them all the time.
