A mysterious shadow plague has begun to corrupt Pokémon through the region. Turning them to darkened forms of themselves and causing wild Pokémon to attack humans and tame Pokémon to attack their own trainers.

Returning to the Orre Region, 5 years after the events in Pokémon Colosseum, Cipher's back. Back to once again to plan on ruling the world. This time they grew in numbers, got a new leader, new admins and a different tactic. Together with his mother, younger sister and his Eevee, Michael (14) lives a normal life at the Pokémon HQ lab. Playing around with the lab's staff and honing his battle skills. That is, until the professor gets abducted by a group of mysterious people. Getting introduced to Shadow Pokémon, Michael embarks on a journey to save the professor. Furthermore, it has now become Michael's job to put an end to Chiper's evil plans. This time, new Shadow Moves get introduced, both old and new locations will be explorerd and some familiar faces will return to the scenes. ------------------ This novel is based on the Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness game, which is developed by Genius Sonority, published by The Pokémon Company and distributed by Nintendo. But how would they react when a war between two unknown forces are knocking at their doorstep. A war that could end the Archipelago or turn the Archipelago into something more. Under Shadow
In a world shared by many races of beings, a war has erupted between the Dwarves and the creatures known as the Shadow People. The Dwarves, having driven the Shadow People from their ancestral home, forced the Shadow People to resort to violence, thus beginning The Elemental Wars. But the Shadow People overcame the Dwarven race and rose to the surface of the world, tired of living a life underground in the shadows. Their rage brought darkness upon the land, and their army moved in on the human race, angered by their alliance with the Dwarves. They took over cities rapidly, killing all who stood in their way, taking humans captive, and searching out those who escaped their grasp. Welcome to the world of Pokemon, a world where supernatural and mysterious creatures call home. All Pokemon come in different shapes and sizes. Some are used for battle, some are seen as pets or companions, and others help in all sorts of ways in society. Pokemon coexist with humans, and both work together in order to further progress into the future. But what if the future wasn't as "sunshine and rainbows" as they thought. The world became plagued with a deadly deep-red, smoke-like miasma that devoured and corrupted all that was unfortunate in getting in its way. Because of this, most of the population was forced into multiple civilizations protected under highly defensive domes. But one city in particular, stood out more than the others. The largest protected bastion located in the region of Neo Radia. It's a region home to the strongest resistance, the Royal Guards; highly skilled Pokemon trainers who protect their dome civilization and find ways to be able to reclaim the outside world.
