When Lilly's mum died in a car crash, when she was only eleven, her world changed. She shut everyone off at school. Even her closest friends. Everyone started to dislike her. That dislike developed into bullying. From verbal to physical. To make life worse for Lilly, her drunken dad abuses her, most days. Hated at home and at school, Lilly feels alone and worthless. One night, Lilly's dad comes home drunk, again, with a familiar but scary face. What will happen when Lilly finds herself trapped between love and fear?

She is intimidated by the young man, their substitute teacher, Mason Smith whom every girl seems to adore. She writes their story, a love story. At first it's not out of love but rather intimidation. It's the story of free will against what Lily calls a mentality "fate." Lily is the kind of person who plans conversations in her mind before they happen.

University student Jessa is still just a kid herself but finds herself caring for an infant when it's father suddenly collapses and dies... ...and then comes back to life again and attacks. With a zombie apocalypse unfolding around her, knowing absolutely nothing about babies and only wants to get back to her own mother, Jessa has to grow up fast to make the dangerous trek home.

No one loves fiction stories quite as much as Remi, but sometimes tales in books are made out to seem much better than they actually are. When a party is disrupted by a zombie outbreak Remi can barely believe it and all too soon she has to go from a lazy, awkward teenager to a killer. Everything around her begins to change and what once was supposed to be a great adventure turns into a tale of drama, love, and betrayal.
