In a bed chamber high in the trees of Lothlorien is a young she-elf is sound asleep. "She will wake soon if Mithrandir is to proceed with his quest to Erebor. The darkness will grow, and she will awaken to fight it, like she did long ago." Galadriel says, turning to her husband and taking his hand. The she-elf is not as young as she seems, she had nearly faded when Galadriel found her at the beginning of the second age. The elf never woke, but the Lady of Light has foreseen it; Naehlara will awaken to help lead the elves, men and all free folk to peace, for she is the High Queen of the elves. The only living elf from the first age. Her fae grows stronger with every year bringing her closer to awakening. Galadriel once was friends with the elf, her father Thingol; king of Doriath before it was abandoned and forgotten as the first age elves left Middle Earth to go back to Valanor or faded with time. "I have longed to see my friend reawaken but how do you explain to one that nearly two ages has passed since she fell into slumber." Galadriel says, a small smile growing on her face. "She was a mighty warrior, the best in all of Middle Earth. But she was stubborn, not as wise as most elves. A lot more like our Woodland kin, the ones in Greenwood." Galadriel says, a laugh slipping through her lips as she remembers watching Naehlara fight in the wars long ago. How she'd argue with anyone that stood in her way, nearly taking the head off the captain of the guard when he would not head her warning of the armies coming from Morgoth. ✨NOT A HOBBIT FANFIC IT IS SET DURING LORD OF THE RINGS✨ A/N I do not own any character other than Naehlara and maybe more if I choose to add more. But probably just Naehlara. I'm newer to the fandom so please let me know if i got any facts wrong. Artemis that's my name. A Long long time ago a young elf prince gave it to me. He was the crowned elf prince of Mirkwood. His name Legolas he was a very kind young elf. I had saved him from drowning when he was only 10, well looked 10 anyway. Since he is an elf they age very slowly just like my kind. After I saved his life that day he wouldd often come see me. Each day just to learn about me and my race. Since we'll, im a mermaid. I'm the last of my kind. He and I grew up together and my feelings for him became one of love over time. I loved him but it was dangerous for me because mermaids can only love once. If my heart breaks it will turn to stone and stop beating, it will grow old and cold and it will stop and never start again. My body will live but it would be a shell of a mer. One day Legolas had come to see me by the river, he told me about a young she-elf named Tauriel. He told me about how he had feelings for her and how amazing she was. My heart hurt at those words. He had fallen for another. That day I told him I loved him and that I would never forget him. Then I grabbed his face with my hands and kissed him. When I kissed him a tear slid down my cheek, when it hit the ground it turned into a white pearl. I kissed him because I loved him but when I kissed him I took away every memory of him and myself. I let go and put my necklace around his neck. It was a green stone with markings on it. We called it our hearts we would give it to the ones we love. I looked at him one last time before jumping back into the water leaving the one I love.
