Juliana "Jill" Evergreene is a 19-year-old girl who leaves her life in the city to live in the countryside to escape her unfulfilling life. She leaves with a family friend named Takakura, and he takes her to Forgotten Valley, locally known as Forget-Me-Not Valley. However, there was a tidbit of information she wasn't aware of: She actually inherited her late father's farm! Jill is not too fond of this revelation. She left home to escape the city, not trap herself in farm work. The spiritual guardian of the valley, formally known as the Harvest Goddess, is summoned by Jill's mother, Juliet, to support her through her journey. Unfortunately, time has made the Goddess quite fickle, and she is punished by forces above and sent to another world for her unwillingness to help such an unmotivated girl. Her subjects, the Harvest Sprites. are also sent away, which causes imbalances across the land. As the consequences pile up, will Jill find the strength to continue her father's legacy and save the Goddess and the Sprites from purgatory? Summer is here, and town residents are preparing for festivals and returning faces from Mineral Town, including the arrival of Kai, an easygoing world traveler who plans to stay for the entire season. Caught up in the festivities, Jill entangles herself with him and the other Mineral Town folk, which can be quite a distraction from farm work. Meanwhile, the third anniversary of Jack's passing looms near, forcing his loved ones, especially his widowed wife Juliet, to reminisce on their past with him and continue to find reasons to move forward. Meanwhile, drought plagues the valley, causing farming to become much more strenuous... And dangerous. Despite newly blooming relationships and the increasing intensity of the summer heat, Jill is determined to keep her head up and endure through her least favorite time of the year, no matter what it takes.
