Little Beatrice Prior would hear the wails of a fragile, timid, Abnegation boy at least once, every Sunday evening, while returning from the Factionless compound with her father. The Abnegation believed in Charity, after-all. She would share a look with her father for a second after which he'd meet her eyes with reproachful glare. 
They were not supposed to speak up their hearts or invade others' privacy. It would be considered selfish: or so she was taught. 
Beatrice would dread every such Sunday and wait for those with the least eagerness. 
She would wonder why she couldn't just reach out to him.  Why she couldn't make the wailing and pleading stop. Why she couldn't persuade someone to help. Why she couldn't lend a helping hand. 
But no one would answer her questions. She knew it. 
It is after Evelyn Eaton's sudden death that Beatrice Prior realizes that there has been enough of  ignorance and what  invites her right now is the path to reach out to someone in need. 
That's what Abnegation was meant for anyway. 
But with so many restrictions and the fact that the pale, fragile, timid boy wasn't the most approachable person at school and the compound likewise, will Beatrice really be able to finish what she's had in mind, after all those Sundays?All Rights Reserved

So this is my first attempt at a Divergent AU. Beatrice Prior is a military brat. She's been all over the world with her father, a General in the Marine Corps. Her father is currently stationed at Camp Lejeune while she attends college. She is unaware that her life is about to take a crazy turn when she takes place in a project to write to military men overseas.
